KOREA DEC'15 : NAMSAN TOWER, MYEONGDONG

Friday, January 1, 2016

ANNYEONG ! Haven’t been updating this space frequent enough but today I will be sharing visuals from my recent winter mini-moon in Korea ! I’ve decided to split the days up so this is part 1. 7 more to come !

First things first, Flight. We booked our flight like a year before the trip so it was really cheap. We had like SQ direct flights for approximately SGD 700+ per pax. True enough SQ never fails. The flight was pleasant with no major hiccups for me. The food tasted fine and good, there is basically nothing to complain about our main airline.

Checked in early cause we are heading to the lounge to eat free food !

Oppa acting like a boss.
First thing we bought in Kimchi-land, GONGCHA !! No airplane food or cloud photos cause we kinda slept our way through the entire flight.

Managed to check in to the hotel 4 hours earlier so first stop was Namsan Towers.

Everywhere we go, no matter the climate, still must buy ice cream.

-4 degrees, yet we are still eating ice cream.

Nolboo Budae Jjigae 놀부 부대찌개 at Myeongdong.
Those who know me well enough would know that the army stew / budae jjigae (부대찌개) is one of my favourite Korean dishes ! Noble was highly recommended by Yucui-Eonnie so I decided to give it a try. It was really tasty and they serve awesome banchans (반찬) heh. Not gonna give the address for this place cause they are basically all around Seoul, so you can just google map it and you will be able to locate one easily. But just in case you're a planner and need to know all their available outlets, here is their website link !

Cheese baked scallops at 5000KRW and wasn't as nice as we expected it to be.

Fried sausages and rice cakes which were oh so good. One of the best street food we miss in Korea.

Guess who we spotted garnering donations for Salvation Army ?

Myeongdong Gyoza 명동교자

If you love kalguksu (칼국수) as much as I do, you will definitely love this place. The noodles here are slightly different from the traditional kalguksu because they add in minced meat and mandoo, but this makes the soup broth even tastier ! Plus, the kimchi served there is damn awesome cause there is this tinge of raw garlic in it making it extra spicy.

And we decided to call it a day.
